SUPPORTED VOLUNTEERING PROJECT CO-ORDINATOR

Cambridge and District Volunteer Centre is a busy Volunteer Centre in Cambridge City Centre.  We deal with roughly 2000 potential volunteers each year and work with around 400 Organisations.

We are currently looking for a Supported Volunteering Worker. The successful applicant will deliver the Supported Volunteering project which enables individuals who require additional advice and support to undertake volunteering.  The Project has now been running for nearly 3 years and thanks to some extra funding we are able to extend the project for at least one more year.  The role will also require liaison with organisations requiring volunteers to help them recognise how they can become more inclusive in their work.  There is also the need for the successful candidate to run a monthly drop in session with supported volunteers in a group situation

This is a fixed term post for one year.

20 hours per week flexible

Salary scale NJC 5 – £19,817 – £ 21, 734 pro rata (under review)

Applicants must have prior experience and knowledge of volunteering and also working with individuals with additional needs. An awareness of social exclusion, good literacy and IT skills, the ability to carefully monitor and record information on our databases and a commitment to equal opportunities are also essential.
